| dc.description.abstract | Urinary tract infections (UTI) are a common disease caused by the ascent of normal intestinal flora into the bladder through the urethra. A UTI can be either symptomatic or asymptomatic. In otherwise healthy people, asymptomatic urinary tract infections (AUTI) are common, and they can be detected in the lab as "significant bacteriuria." The purpose of the research is to examine the prevalence of asymptomatic bacteriuria among Libyan International Medical University students. It examine both gender male and female. Urine samples were collected and analyzed from 24 LIMU students. The Fisher's exact test was used to compare the prevalence of asymptomatic bacteriuria, the result showed significant growth in 8 present of the total samples. The prevalence of AUTI was significantly (p = 0.018) higher in females than in males. | en_US |
